80/90 outboard motor lower unit oil. usually black, and smelly. if gray or white it has had some water, intrusion. always change the washers/seals on the drain and vent plugs when you remove them. they are the #1 reason for water intrusion. i always buy 2 tubes. but there are the new fangle pumps that you use with the quart bottles. it also should be changed every fall, before the 1 st freeze, in case of any water intrusion, you get the water out, so it does not freeze in the lower and crack it.
