1963 Monkeyward 15 hp - GG-18734C

So I have this motor and everything is hunky dory except the recoil is broken on the front right leg. Since this is essentially an OMC motor, I was wondering if anyone knew what other recoils would fit. I am not sure of the part number, but from what I have seen on other 15's, 18,s and possibly 12's might fit. Anyone Know for sure? This motor is the older style and has the recoil on the top, not spooled up on the side.

yes it is an Gale made by OMC. i have ask our older motor guru's to look at this.

It is a Gale model 15D15. The recoil housing is part number 593714. As far as I can figure out, it is a unique Gale part. Actually is is the same as a multitude of Evinrude and Johnson motors, BUT the snout where the rope comes out is different to accomodate the different hoods. Evinrude and Johnson even differ from each other in this respect because of differing hoods.
