West Bend is the grandfather of Force. Chrysler bought them out, called them Chryslers, then changed the name to Force before selling out to Mercury. They might have been good engines, but getting sold, name changed, then sold again doesn't sound like a hot selling line.
My guess is that the outboard salvage yards are loaded with parts for them. (check the Engine FAQs Forum)
I have no idea what is a fair price or if that one is worth buying. If it will demo on the water it's gotta be worth a C-note. There is some value in being the only guy on the lake with a unique outboard. . .provided it runs, that is.
