I just bought a 16' FiberForm boat with a 1964-1966 merc 950 six on it. I could get the motor to start up and run for a bit but then it would choke down and die on me i never could keep it running for longer then one minute or a little more. When i pulled the cover off of motor and sat on back by it while my father was starting it i could reach in and run the butterflies by hand and it would run for a little longer but still eventually die.. So my first question is how do I fix the problem any ideas??
The next question is I am just running the gas that was already in the tank what is the proper gas to oil mix for that motor? Thanks looking forward to any input..
