1964 duratec

I'm new and I was looking for a simple boat to take my son fishing. On Craigslist I saw her ...... a 1964 seventeen ft Duratech . Overall she looks good but there is no steering cable. The engine supposedly works but is 2 stroke. Any ideas of worth and where to get a steering cable.

I'd be glad to take a look at the Craigslist ad. Tried to find a 64 Duratech 17, but did not locate the ad. Can you provide a link?

I have a 1966 Duratech Orion, which may be what you have because they are the same length, my son picked up by the side of the road for $200.00 and gave it to me for Christmas a year ago. The motor did not work and the interior was all rotted and trashed. I have been rebuilding it as I have time and money but did use it for fishing quite a lot last summer and fall and it was awesome. Rock solid and very comfortable with 3-4 guys in the boat.
