I've been working on this and the Voltage regulator looks pretty much shot. Does anybody know where to buy one of if it is no longer available what would work in place of it?

Also, would this stop the ignition switch from engaging the starter?

Thanks in advance.

No it would not prevent the igniton switch from working. The regulator is available from Evinrude dealers. It is about a hundred bucks. And before you ask, no a car regulator won't work. They are set to too high a current, and will burn out the generator. There is a Harley Davidson regulator that should work, but I don't know the number off-hand. Besides. it would require re-wiring. It has to be 12V, 10 amps.
