Hi-
Just rebuilt the carb on my 1964 Johnson 18HP motor. Put new needle and seat, float, gaskets and cleaned carb and also blew out with compressed air. Went to fire up the engine today, and primed the fuel line bulb and gas pours out of carb throat. Took carb apart, thought the float was not working, everything seems fine. Readjusted float and it still does the same thing! doesn't appear to be hanging up. Had carb apart about 15 times today and can't figure out. This carb has the fixed high speed jet I believe. This is where I think the gas is comming from. Maybe I lost a part when cleaning the carb, not sure. Looked at this for hours today and I still can't figure out why the gas is pouring out. If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly apreciated. When you squeeze primer bulb, shouldn't it get hard and the float then stops the flow of gas? Thanks!
