sons boat,
we have a '64 merc 65 hp manual tilt,
we also have a cactus, or near dead, Suzuki dt 50 hp with good PTT,
am considering swapping the two clamp assemblies so we have PTT on the merc to save our crook backs
from early rough measurements they "appear" to be a close match.. with maybe the help of a shim or three,
king pin is the same,
so apart from removing the gas lift struts, which may be knackered anyway, to fit the trim motor on the right hand side, can anyone see a problem or issue with this idea,
just thinking if it is a possibility at this stage, boat needs a bit more work yet before using it,
apart from it being a Frankenstein thing and no longer original,
we could of course look for a merc PTT but the suzi IS just sitting there,
FWIW, ( admittedly, not alot! ) this is in Australia,
thanks for reading or for any replies,
cheers,
so, any thoughts?
