Does anyone know anything about the Merc 650's? I have a 1966 Larson Fiberglass boat that says it rated for a 55HP motor but on other websites I see 18 - 70 HP is ok. When I look at photos of the Merc 650 it looks like it is 35" tall from the transom which would look huge on the boat. It currently has a 33HP Johnson on there. Does anyone have info on weights of Merc 50HP and 65HP engines from the 60's and 70's? I was leaning toward a 50Hp Mercury but came across this engine on eBay. Please help a confused boater!
