I am the second owner of this boat.. given to me by my grandfather.. the boat is solid, no rot anywhere, has a 1971 Johnson 60hp that runs but needs link and sync done.. I am emotionally attached to this boat but feel that I need to sell it.. I don't have the time to work on the engine as my free time is spent on the lake enjoying a different boat that does run.. If I do decide to sell what kind of price should I ask for? It includes original trailer that is in good shape.

Unfortunately for sellers these old boats don't go for a lot of money. Since you do not have any "operational history", meaning you haven't used it lately and I sounds like you cant really demonstrate it to a buyer, don't look for a lot of cash. Any savvy boater will know all the possible pitfalls of buying an old boat like this.

Just look at this forum at all the work and expense some of the owners have gone to to "fix up" their boats.

I suggest you look around the internet ... Craigslist, eBay and others to get an approximate value.

Obviously I can't see it so as a blind guess I would figure it this way: Good Trailer $3-400, Good hull, no damage, transom not rotted, seats decent and steering complete and deck cosmetically nice $800-1000, engine ... if it doesn't run right its not worth much. Its a bundle of snakes for any buyer and no one like to get bitten!

Sight unseen I'd say between $1,100 and $1,400. If it's rough looking, then less.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Thanks for the info... I was figuring about $1000... other than the engine issues the rest of the boat is in great shape for it's age.. I replaced the seats several years ago as the wood in the old ones had rotted... in hindsight I wish I had kept them and had them re-done.. I may just try to find the time and repair/replace the engine and keep it.. the boat has a lot of great memories for me growing up on the Ohio river and spending time with my grandparents cruising the river.

I will try to get pics this week.. I need to take cover off and give her her annual cleaning... she hasn't seen water in several years but she always get washed and waxed and the engine ran and warmed up at least once a year.
