I have a trim cylinder leaking. It is the older single hose style. I read in a 2008 post that the seal can be found at Granger and O rings are standard. But the post did not say how to disassemble the cylinder.
I did loosen both the cylinder seal cap and the end of the shaft part with the hose connection to the point all threads were unscrewed.. But it seems there is a spring keeping the end from being removed from the shaft so I can slide the cylinder seal off the shaft. When I turn the loosened cap, the other end of the cylinder turns with a spring like recoil if the end was prevented from turning while laying flat on the bench. It seems both ends are still connected by this spring. I did not try unscrewing the end of the cylinder. It was really tight so I don't know if that part should unscrew.
Anyone know how to take this apart and or have a diagram? The repair manual I have for the boat only shows the two hose style cylinder.
