Finally got my 1965 33HP Evinrude Ski-Twin on the water yesterday, and much to my dissapointment it did not perform well at all. To begin with, it wouldn't go past maybe 8 mph max, and that was full throttle. (It is on a 15 ft. tri-hull fishing boat.) Then, I went to turn around and head back to the dock so I knocked it out of gear to give it a break before I headed back to the dock I went to put it in forward and it went about 10 ft. and forward went out. The strange thing is, I had reverse....so I got to idle part of the way back to the ramp in reverse, until the motor just completely choked out. So, I was just wondering if anybody has any ideas on what needs to be done. I rebuilt the carb a couple months ago, and the lower unit has been completely gone-through. Any ideas??
