Im looking for a 1965-66 span v20 offshore it holds a huge sentimental value to me now obviously my father doesent remember any of the id info but it was bought new in 65 by my great grandpa then sold to my grandpa who sold it to his neighbors friend who sold it to my father who when i was 6 or 7 sold it to a guy that took it to the great lakes no idea from there what im looking for is any 65-66 span v20 offshore

Hi,

Fiberglassics indicates that Span boats were only built for about a seven year period, so finding them may be very difficult. They may not come up very often. Your best bet may be to go to Craigslist Alerts at List-Alert.com, sign up, and get list-alert to begin searching craigslist for span boats. I ran searches on craigslist, kijiji, and ebay, and came up with nothing.

Long ago -- early mid-80s??? there was a boat on Lake Erie painted orange and named "**** and SPAN". The name was painted over the symbol of the detergent box.....Most likely in the central basin,,,,, not eastern for sure. Since SPAN was all caps there may be a connection. I don't remember what the boat looked like but that paint job is unforgettable.

Thanks guys, I did setup craigslist alerts for it... When dad sold that boat in like 96 or 97 we had no idea it'd be next to impossible to find another one... My father simply cant believe that when we go to search span we can hardly find a picture. I believe his exact words were "did my grandpa really have to buy the most impossible boat to find?" So i greatly appreciate your help.

and to any new posters i am still boatless so if you have one rotting away in your barn or know a guy who had one 20 years ago or who had it last week... let me know at this point i'll take what i can get :facepalm:

Is there a way i could get a list of boats registered in my state in say 97 or 98 or even this year? if i could get one from 97 i could get the guys name that bought our boat and go from there...
