I got this motor on trade and am trying to get it to run for use on my pontoon. It is the dual coil, has 5 poles on the internal wiring end, and cranks from jumper wire. I have several mercontrols that work with my other motors from the 60's but none will fit the plug on the side of this motor. The ends look like they will fit but the the bigger poles do not line up, they are off by about 1/8 of an inch. Where can I find the right wiring number for this motor, or a picture of one? I have also heard that these motors are not for the average mechanic since they use dual coils. Any credance to this thought?
