1965/90 hrs carb problems

i have manuall for motor. and emailed charlie from a reply from here havent heard back in about 2 weeks. when i took the type II carb apart somthings didnt jive with the book. like it says to take out the 4 high speed orfice. i dont see them anywhere on float chamber. have hole carb apart.on bench<br />in rebuilding this carb do i NEED theelectric choke as i cant find one in my area.also the guy who stated IT RAN LAST I NEW.lol... didnt put the screen back in the fuel filter where can i get one?. and sorry but last is my fly wheel will turn but prop shaft acts like it is still in gear it is electric shift does it have to be running to be in newtrall then shut off?motor wont start thats why i took carbs apart found a lot off sh-- in float chamber and lines like sluge. sorry about the legth of this but thats all the ? i had for now any help would be great.<br /><br />keep them in the 10 ring......

Sixgun.. This system goes to failsafe (fowardward gear) in case you have a solinoid failure in the lower unit. It has to be running for hydrolic pressure to build up and go into neutral. So when cranking the prop will turn until pressure builds up and then it will go into neutral.

thank you for the info on shifting. took lower end apart today front cone has small crack from water that was in it . will look for rebuild for that also. from what i understand when you heat the lower end to heliweld you have to replace seals so doda-doda. am going to have a fun time . thanks again for the help..

Dont try heliarc....Have it TIG welded!! If the weld does not look good..It aint!!!!!!!!!!!<br /><br />I know you have one..But if you can get rid of it do so..Parts are getting harder to get and more and more problems are showing up on these because of age...Just my thoughts only!
