HI group.
I am changing the power head on a 1965 35 hp mercury outboard. I dis-assembled the flywheel ( hub from the main body- 8 bolts) and Like an idiot I didn't mark the location of the center hub keyway to the magnets. Are there witness marks already on the parts or do I just look for online pictures and hope for the best?

Hi, you posted in the Mercruiser section.
Maybe you can get a mod to move it.

I'm not sure why they have the word Mercury in the forum heading other than to confuse people.

Look carefully at paint / rust marks.----That might help you find the original position.----Or poke a screw driver into top cylinder.----Bring piston to TDC.----Find timing marks on flywheel to line it up.

Sorry, I don't post to forums much. I started in the Mercury outboard motor topics and worked my way here. Reacerone: if it had timing marks that would be the way to go. Thanks for the feedback.
