Howdy, EZ. <br /><br />Funny, it must be advancing age, but I do not recall a 16hp Johnny in that era.<br /><br />A larger throat and venturi carb, with approprite jets, should increase the available top end hp of whatever you have, but at the expense of poor atarting, poor idle and poor low speed performancce.<br /><br />The bigger carb would probably cost more than the engine is worth.<br /><br />My recommendation: don't bother.<br /><br />Good luck.
