So I removed the lower unit to replace the impeller and what do you know the lower shift shaft seal needs to be replaced too. Not a problem as I bought the gasket kit from my local dealer. I custom fabricated a socket to fit the brass seal but it wont budge....at all! I have tried the old scredriver and hammer to try and break the seal loose to no avail.....

So here's my question, what options do I have to get this stubborn seal off? Ideas??

have you tried that actual tool to remove that fitting? the bushing and the seal are replaced as 1.
