1965 mercury publication recommended rpm range

hey guys, so, I was trolling the net and I came across this website called fiberclassics.com. in their library, they have some publications from different motor and boat manufactures. they have a 1965 publication or brochure of the I/o's offered in 65. In this publication it shows each models general specs. in their it shows a recommened rpm range of 3700-4100 rpm. Now I have been told by marine mechanics and the mercury dealer, that max rpm is 4500. can you guys help me decifer this so I don't fudge up all of the last 2 yrs worth of work.

Not sure if this Starcraft forum is a good place for your thread, maybe a mod could move it to the MC I/O section for you. I do know the guys there are going to want to know what exact motor your wanting info on.

achris answered your post in the MC I/O forum, 1966. He put a snippet from the factory manual. 3900-4300 RPM. Save the two years of work. :smile:
