1965 starcraft holiday swap in a 1985 mercuriser 120?

I hava a 1965 starcraft holiday with a mercuriser 110 that's locked up . Would a 1985 mercuriser 120 drop right in?

If you are just replacing the engine it should bolt in, however your model has a rubber exhaust hose that may have a smaller inside diameter than the riser that is on the replacement engine. You will probably need to make up a stepped adapter. Usually the nipple that the hose attached to is rotted off at the bottom. If it is then you will have to either replace the gimbal housing to a later style or plug the hole and route the exhaust through the transom. Also look at the wire harness plug to see if the pin arrangement is the same. If not you may have to swap the old harness to the replacement engine. Good luck

I wpuld look for a 1992 or newer 3.0 and swap motor and drive

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... Ya it'll drop in, but as noted, there'll be "Gotcha's" along the way,....

If ya could get the entire driveline, pulleys to prop from the '85,....
It'll be an easy swap, 'n Great up-grade,....
You'd need to "Tune" the key-hole abit, widenin' it slightly, 'n redrillin' 2 of the holes, slightly wider, 'n abit higher,...
