I would like to replace the transom but cannot get to the 4 side bolts on each end of the transom. I tried to remove them but they just turn and will not come out.I think there are nuts inside but I cannot get at them.would it be advisable to cut openings in the side of the splashwell to get access to the nuts?

EZ, he said they were spinning so I'm thinking he'll need to get in there with a grinder/cutting blade.
Again, not to be argumentativebut I think he's just saying the nuts are spinning cuz he hasn't put a wrench on 'em up there, not implying they're stripped or something.
