I have a 1966 1100 merc question #1 the bottom of float bowl has a threaded hole . should it be caped or left open. in my book it shows the jets the low speed needle but shows nothing but a threaded hole. and does not say anything about it. question #2 when i start it fires right up and idols good. when i put it in forward gear full throttle it takes off like a jet few sec latter it Boggs and will die unless I put in neutral and and use the black lever on the right of the drive {forward & rev shifter} . when I move it forward it takes a sec or two to get full rpm's from the motor. But I'll put it in gear again {forward full throttle and for a second it takes off running great then Boggs out again. for awhile I could get it to run full throttle and it would go to 26 mile marker at lake Mohave AZ but once I back off throttle it go's right back to bogging out again . could it have something to do with shifter box. It's driving me crazy.
