1966 50hp merc

have problem with water in telltale ran wire through hose some junk not much blew air through it towards head no air flow, "hose is clear" outlet at head no air flow.! any ideas. or is this normal manuel says nothing of water flow thanks JC
ps tried 2 times to enter post this is the condensed version will give more info if needed thank you again and again

Thats a common problem on the older engines with the outlet on the bottom of the exhaust water jacket because of the difficulty in removing the cover to clean the block passages we normally just drill and tap the top of the powerhead water jacket like the newer engines are and plug the lower hose.
