Wow! Three years since I started this project. http://forums.iboats.com/boat-restoration-building-hull-repair/1966-duo-restoration-342353.html Any Duo boat owners still out there? Had some serious setbacks to deal with. One of which was losing a well paying job. Fortunately I was only out of work for about 4 months or so. Bad thing is the job I have now doesn?t pay very well. Had to do some major financial regrouping and now I can finally start working on the boat again but on an extremely limited budget.
So far I have the bottom completed. Had to do a lot of gelcoat repair and then several coats of Interlux VC Performance Epoxy. I also have the stringers assembled but not in the boat yet and I have the transom installed but I still have to add the cloth to the inside and add the drain tubes then that will be complete. I don?t have any 1708 biaxial cloth so I?m gonna use a layer of csm then woven roven on top of that. I think that should make it strong enough. I?m open to any and all advice from the more experienced boat builders out there. I?ll upload some pictures of what I have so far a little later.
