1966 Evinrude 9.5 bad prop

My prop is three blade alum. and is beat up badly. Ive looked at the props IBoat has to offer @ around $80. (four pitches 61/2"3blads,71/4" 2blades,8" 3blade, 81/2" 3blad ) Would anyone hazared a guess as to which i should gamble on with a 75lb Kaboat inflatable (about 4.5X16ft flatbottom with 300 to 600 lbs load. Any one with experence and an opinion chime in on this one thanks.
I know this will be a guess. What was stock? I'm thinking my Kaboat will be lighter than what OMC had in mind when designing the 9.5 with their pick of a pitch prop.

I have a 1972 johnson 9.5 whichis basicalythe same motor. The stock prop on my motor was a 8" x 8 1/8". Mine is beat up pretty bad too but I don't wanna pay for a replacement. There was oneother prop available stock for this year and it had a higher pitch. You would probably want the 81/2" but that is just a guess. Best to find out what you have now. It should be stamped on the prop. Remove the cotter pin and nose cone nut and the stamped part should be on the prop right under the nut.

Original brochure indicates a 8 1/4 X 8 prop. A 3 blade should deliver better all around performance.
You may be able to get your prop repaired and they can tell you what size it is if you can't find the numbers. You have an advantage that the boat is less than half the weight of the intended target boat.Unfortunately the small inflatable shape isn't very easy to push.If you check the utube inflatable videos you will see they lay down flat and don't get out of the water like a ridged hull.Also usually the motor is too low dragging too much through the water.
You can probably raise the motor an ich or so with a stick on top of the transom just be sure the the clamps have a good grip. Start with the stock prop and see how it goes.
Your old style gearcase won't allow a lot of height but an inch or so should work.
If you want to go for more height you might be able to extend your transom.
You should have a tach and gps to really tell if the prop and setup is right.The 9.5 is capable of speeds about 19-21 mph.on a light reasonably fast hull.
