Don't know if anyone will read this or not, but I've seen a lot of good advice on these forums, so it's worth a shot. I have a 1966 Seaswirl with the Renault 4 cylinder in-board and a Mercruiser out drive. The boat will never be worth the money it will take to make it usable.

Can anyone give an opinion on whether or not there is a market for the Renault motor, either complete or in parts? Same with the out drive. I hate to just scrap everything if there is some value in it. Opinions and advice are greatly appreciated.

Ayuh,.... That's the 80 hp, 'n MC-0 outdrive,....

It's antique, 'n obsolete,....

I guess there'd be some value, if you can find somebody tryin' to restore to original such a beast,...

Anybody wantin' a Runnin' useable boat, just Up-dates to something parts can be bought for,...

How is the drive lifted? Hydraulic rams or cable?

My Father in Law had one years ago. He swore that little motor was the best powerplant he ever owned! It was pre me, so I never saw it. But he was actually sad he traded it. If you can, post up a pic of that engine sometime...

The engine looks like this and the drive is white as opposed to the standard issue black.

I thought the Renault engines were done by 65. My 66 Aristocraft has a 120 and they list a 110, 120 and 150 for 66 in my original owners manual.

Sorry I haven't been back in a bit. I appreciate all the responses.

I will try and post pics sometime soon, but it looks just like what 500dollar744ti posted above.

Capt Ken: it is lifted by cables/manual crank.

I will probably end up pulling the power train out of it and trying to part it out or sell it as is. The trailer underneath it is a cobbled together affair made out of an old travel trailer frame. It would make a good toy hauler if I cut the bunks and rollers off of it. Will probably use the boat hull up-side-down as a roof for my chicken coop.
