Hello there

I am a novice, so please bear with me...

I have a 1967 9.2hp SeaKing (model vwb27909a), made by Chrysler marine that recently was given to us by a friend. Motor ran fine for awhile (2-3 hours), then all of the sudden lost power (as i was running it). RPMs seemed to be ok (do not remember a drop or increase in rpms at time of power loss). It was running well and then all of the sudden it wouldn't go. When I pulled the motor, it also looked like the lower unit might have been leaking gearcase oil. So... question is, does this sound like a water pump and/or lower unit seal issue? Any ideas? Also, I am not sure we are using the right fuel/oil mixture. We were using standard 50:1, but after several posts I've seen here, that doesn't appear to be right. Hope I didn't ruin it.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
C
