Hey again, I have a question on my 1967 Evinrude Sportfour 60 hp. I got my engine running in a tub of water over the water intake. Is the water discharge down low by the prop? My father in law thought it might be the port just below the power head facing rearward. To me that appears to be the exhaust. Am I correct?? Thanks again guys..........Zeph

the ports are exhaust relief ports, for idle in the water, you can get a spray out of them. the main exhaust and water exits thru the prop. your motor does not have a tale tell water indicators, other than the mist out the exhaust relief. one can be added.

I was not getting water spraying from the upper port below the power head, I was however getting a lot of churning of the water in the tub with the prop off. This was all at idle. I wonder if it's time for a new impeller? Thanks.........Zeph

If it's been longer than a couple years since the impeller has been changed, I'd definitely say yes, you need one. As noted above, you have no tell tale (pee stream) indicator. You might brainstorm with Tashasdaddy for further instructions as to how you would go about a modification. A water pressure guage could then be added to monitor the output to ensure adequate flow............. ALAN
