I can get one of these for 75 bucks. dont know anything about it.

can someone hook me up with some info? Are they good/bad? prone to failure?

It would be going on a 16ft Blue Fin tin boat. I will have to get controls and such but I thought for 75 either way a winner.

jbakerinc, search for your motor on this forum. You should find hours of good reading concerning your motor. Can you possibly get the model # from the seller? Is it mechanical shift or electric shift? Generator or alternator? I believe that you will need the junction box with that motor as well. They are hard to come by so expect to pay some $$ if it is not included.

Ok with the standard, one piece gearcase.
Better with the heavy duty 2 piece split gearcase.
There are some expensive parts in the ignition system, but I actually like that ignition better than the ones a couple of years later. If it has spark on all 4 and shifts, I might take a chance on it. Check the compression.
