I have a 1967 Johnson 6hp, great reliable fishing motor that I use every year extensively. This year it took me a LONG time to get it started, but now that it is running it will run ONLY on full choke. Not a hair off or it cuts right out. Ran it for 20 minutes on full choke, even drove around a little bit to make sure it was fully warmed up and still wouldn't run off choke. My assumption is that I need to clean the carb, but looking at it I am not sure how easy it will be to remove and I want to make sure I am prepared, so as not to lose any screws or anything. Just can't tell how much holds it on. Done this on lawn mowers 100 times but never on an outboard! Any help would be very much appreciated!
