1967 johnson lower unit

here is my situation...i have a 1967 9.5 johnson...i was draining the oil out of the lower unit..the oil was milky which i am assuming is water.....what can use to clean the inside out with?...i am missing 3 screws to the lower unit i bought new ones but do i locktite them or put anit sieze on them?.....appreciate any advice...thanks

You can flush it out with diesel fuel in the top vent hole and it drains out the lower if you want but it's not really needed. If you are missing three screw holding the skeg on, I'd replace them snug, refill the LU oil and then retest. It might be fine. If your oil still turns milky (meaning water intrusion) then you might want to consider a seal kit for the LU or just change your LU oil more often.

I read on here that you can use motor oil to flush it out... the cheapest stuff you can get. Make sure you drain it well so you don't thin out the new oil.

There is a sealant/ antiseize that is used on the screws but the exact name escapes me, have you tried using the search feature yet?
