I replaced the water pump on my 1967 Merc 650 and discovered that the bolt under the trim tab was missing. Does anyone know that size the bolt should be so I can pick a new one up?
Swag, ¼-20 x 1" SS Socket Head. Otherwise possibly 1 ½" long, same otherwise. Otherwise same lengths and types in 5/16 rather than ¼. You need the socket head (and obviously in SS) and an Allen hex wrench as a regular hex bolt's head is too wide to be covered with a wrench/socket for extraction.......as I recall..............It's the only socket head screw used...must be for that reason.
