Open a free account at any of the photo sites, load your pictures there and repost a link to them.

then we can see exactly what you are trying to describe.

Do you have the serial #, that may help us look up part #'s

Got the same motor sitting here now. ser# 21697XX. by looking at your pics, it seems one of your issues is, or will be, one of mine. you have no charging circuit. I don't see a stator, and it does not look like you have the fly wheel with magnets.

Other than that, I just saw a choke solenoid on ebay for these. it does not look like your starter solenoid is grounded, or attached at all. Should look at that.

For the harness, what I would do is splice it. Solder it, seal it and heat shrink it. If I couldn't do that I would replace it. Electrical tape, crimp-ons, or twist splices are not on option on the water.

i haven't hooked the motor up to the battery yet. when i got the boat the motor was kind of in shambles but looked very clean. i am just trying to decide what parts i need first and foremost to get it running. honestly i am not sure if it will even turn. granted i do not know crap about boat motors as of this point but am learning. i can see the flywheel and everything looks in tack. its on there tight and looks very close to the flywheel on my friends 80 something 115 horse merc outboard. what would you mean flywheel with magnets. i can ground the starter selenoid so that is not a major problem, correct? the idea for the harness is one that sounds like it could work. i will try that before buying a new harness. anything else i will take with open ears. thank you your .02 mean a lot
