1967 rude 40 horse

I would like to look at the points & coils on a '67 40 evinrude .Does one
remove the flywheel,and if so does it take some kind of puller?thanks

Thank you Whaler for your reply- The threads you sent me to have me a
little alarmed at this point-hope it goes on easier than it comes off!

It is easy. Takes me 10 minutes to get off, max. You just have to use quite a bit of force on everything, and that can be a bit disturbing the first time through. The hardest part (if you're not using an impact wrench) is keeping the flywheel from rotating.
