got a question that the manual does not address.

Next to the low idle adjustment valve, there is a hole that goes back into the carb. When i pump my bulb, gas will coming shooting out of this after all the air is out of the line. Is this normal? what is this hole? overflow?

on a side note, is it best to have the shortest possible fuel line coming from the tank to the engine or does length not matter?

Thanks-

Keith

sounds as if your float needle is not closing. overflow. 6 feet is average, can be shorter, with no effect.

Buy a carburetor kit and take the carb apart and replace the float valve. Note: it is possible that the float is the problem (sinking). I suggest you get the kit from a dealer..it will include a new float.

On order!

I was looking at the manual as well and the post on the right side is the valve, I pulled that down and couple of times and it stopped pushing fuel through the hole. not sure what I was playing with, but it made the fuel line rock hard again and the problem to stop. for now at least. will have to wait until i get the rebuild kit and go from there!

thanks-K
