Hi Guy's,

Just quick question, how much does a gasket set (full powerhead, including head gasket) cost for a 1968 evinrude 40hp, model 40872c.

I tried to find one here where I live and was told nearly $100.00au for the gasket set, but that didn't include a head gasket. The head gasket was a further $50.00au.
Then to top it off, I'm told that it will take at least 6 - 8 weeks for the gaskets to be sent from the U.S.A.

You could try some of the parts dealers here on the internet for your gasket set. I don't know what the current exchange rate is, but the parts should run roughly US$50-60. If you can find a US merchant who ships overseas, you can pay a bit extra for Global Priority mail shipment or even FedEx, and have the parts in just a few days, though.

hmm, with the exchange rate and shipping cost, that price isn't much different, but the shipping time kicks butt :)
