I'm going to rebuild the carbs due to the leakage. The manual details this, however the core plugs were leaking so am going to replace them as well. "smart tap in the center of the plug did'nt work" Are these plugs part of the rebuild kit? Any tips on removing these plugs/ Also what about tightening lead shot. The carb seemed to have alot of wet areas. Thanks Rod

Hi Rod
To remove the core plugs I punch a flat blade screw driver thru them and just twist them out, they should be part of the rebuild kit but check first B4 removing. To tighten up the lead shot use a suitable sized punch and give them a sharp tap

Thanks RPJS,

I've got many probs with this motor. Need a new stator and distributor. I would like to do some price shopping on the net. Any web sites come to mind for this "ole motor". Thanks Rod

Howdy leatherneck46.

Twin City Outboard has a website and any part (used) for any engine ever built. They say they have parts back to 1909.
