Hi
I had a small 1" milky puddle one day last week, but it has not returned lately. I am a bit concerned. It is coming out of this hole on the side of the lower end. See the yellow circle in the image below.

Any thought on what it could be. The L.E. is a rebuilt with about 5 hrs total on it.

Thanks

Re: 1968 650 Thunderbolt - concern

Hello:

That hole is the vent hole and as I recall, the lower unit lube is suppoae to be 1/2" below that hole when filled, so I don't see how it could be coming from there. Now, below the "Bullet" (Gear and propshaft housing) is the fill hole. If it's coming from the lower unit, I believe it would come from down there.

Other, more knowlegable people will chime in soon.

Hope this helps.

it looks like a water drain hole for the shift shaft area. If milky lube is coming out, the shift shaft seal might be bad.

Just got her back from the machanic. Shift shaft seal from when he had it open last. All better now. :0) Now if it would stop raining.
