If it is a 6cyl and white it was built before 1964 so you need to start with a serial number

I may have harness, and a controller that might work. However, as Laddie said the serial number is need. There were no white mercs after 1964, unless they were repainted. In general, dealing with old mercs, and looking for parts, the best step is to give the serial number, it will help source the "right parts".

I'd say that is not the serial number, or part of it is missing.

Wiring harness's can be found on E-bay, or other sites. As for controllers,
you can still find the orginal one handel control, or you can substitue a two handel controll, as long as you get the brass barrels for the cables. It depends upon what other parts you need. Most are still avaliable, but can be very pricey. Another consideration is how mechanically inclined you are. Its hard to find a mechanic to work on these motors. Timing is set mechanicaly, and you will need the correct tools for this, or get a dial indicator. I have a 1961 800, I am quite pleased with it, these inline 6's are very dependable, if treated right. I'll look and see if I have a harness for yours, I do have a two lever controller but that is for a 1950's 50 hp or under merc. You might be able to conver it for yours, but I am not 100% sure untill I look at your motor specs.
