Hello All, I am having trouble removing the lower unit from my Evinrude 68' 40h Big Twin. I have removed the bolts from the lower unit and have disconnected the shift linkage. Am I missing anything?
Thanks

Have you removed all 7 bolts? There 6 bolts on the lower unit and 1 bolt behind the exhaust cover which you will have to remove first.

Yeah, I just found it and the unit feel out. Now my new problem is seperating the gear housing to make sure all is well. I removed the screws, but it still wont budge. Maybe all it need is some gentle persuasion.

Yep, you have to remove the rear cover (whole bunch of phillips head screws), and there is a big bolt behind it. An impact screwdriver is a big help in getting those screws out.
