1968 evinrude Cylinder Head

I have a 1968 9288d 9.5hp Motor and the top spark plug thread is stripped. I was looking on the net for a possible head replacement and I have found them for $ 3.19. Can this be possible. the gasket is 15$, can the cylinder head be that cheap. It is labeled properly.

Heh. Looks like a bug in their database. The head part number is really 309609, not 309309. A 309309 is some sort of clip thingee. Will not take the place of a cylinder head though. I'd just take it to a machine shop and let them put in a heli-coil.

thanks I thought so. I am pretty confident I can do the Heli Coil myself. I will let everyone know how it goes.
