1968 Fastwin 18hp High Speed Needle

Quick question for you guys: Is the high-speed "needle" (screw at the bottom of the carb) fixed for a 1968 evinrude fastwin? I tried adjusting it and it had no effect on high speed, except coming out and dumping a bunch of gas. It wasn't like the low speed needle; it was just a small screw. The motor ran fine at full speed, just wanting some confirmation.

is that just your float bowl drain plug. take a look at the blow up.

I think yours has a fixed orifice - not adjustable.
