1968 Johnson 55 HP Telltale

Can anyone tell me if my 55 hp johnson , model TRL-10R has any tpye of a telltale or where the water outlet is on it. I run it and can fell some warm water coming out around the lower unit from little weep holes is this normal? Is there anywhere else water should come out when I have the earmuffs on it?

There is no tell-tale on that engine. You will get water from the two holes in the upper exhaust housing when the thermostat opens, also some flow out the exhaust hub of the prop.

I have the same motor and was also wanting to verify how the tell tale ports work. My Seloc manual tells me that I should see flow out of the tell tale port? I just replaced my water pump for maintenance and was checking for output but I didn't see any, I then pulled the T-stat and got plenty of flow out the tstat hole.

So just so I can sleep tonight, my motor should not output anything out of the two holes?

Also is there an easy way to add a telltale to this motor? TIA.
