1968 Johnson 65 hp V4 Finally got it on the water. Noticed a missing sound at 3/4 to WOT. Found one plug was wet Changed plugs, still. Changed wires as I found a crack in one of the housings. Still has a missing sound. Cleand points? still there, Any help would be appreciated.

90 psi on all 4 cyl. but I don't see how that would cause a miss fire?

Your system uses a distributor similar to those of the day.
It has va breaker point p-late,High tension coil, and cap and rotor
Any of the leads could be weak even the one from the coil.
Not sure but I think the cap and rotor were hard to find 10 years ago.
If your going to trouble shoot you will nerd a factory repair manual.
Does this skip feel like you hit something? If so it may just be a weak shift dog.

No, It feels like a shorted wire, A new distributor cap is over $200.00 here.Rotors are supposed to be obsolete? A friend mentioned a spring under the flywheel, He said if it is weak it doesn't hold the points together, something like that. I've only been sober for 21/2 months LOL maybe I better ask him again. Where do I find the shift dog? sorry for my negligence. Thank you
