Hello, I just bought a 1969 merc 200 serial # 2336415.
I bought a impeller for it, and when I went to change it, the pump housing was melted!! I cant believe that this actually pumped water!! It ran good in a bucket without the rabbit ears, so I don't think there is any engine damage. Does anyone know where to get a complete pump kit with lower pump housing?? Also a hint on getting the lower pump housing off? This lower housing has a piece of a aluminum can and silicone patching a hole or crack in the back of the housing. I am afraid to pull it off. Any break downs or hints would be greatly appreciated!
