I have a 1968 Starcraft Seafarer I am presently working on.

Aircraft stripper failed to remover the white primer/finish so I had to use an nyalox flap wheel (nylon). I am getting close to getting outer hull stripped, then I will have the inside blasted with media appropriate for aluminum.

After hull is done, questions:

Alumabrite necessary? If so before or after Gluvit? Then I will put self etching primer on it, then tan Parker Duck Boat Paint. In current pic, it is coated with dust so that is why aluminum is not shining.

I have to find the original starcraft emblems for boat sides of boat.

On the hull rib, how can I pull out a dent? there is a dent in one of the gunwale rubs, I assume that I can heat it and tap it outwards.

More pics can be seen here

Forget the dent it is there forever.........

You are ready for gluvit now......no need to strip further.

A light dusting of zinc chromate paint, followed by the parker brand primer then paint. Are you going to camo it with a reed pattern? Or hang reed bats over the sides? Are you going to build up the top with camo too?

I have seen some great duck rigs.
