1968 V-230 Carribean

I just got a 1968 23' with twin mercruiser I/O's along with a big box of stuff!

One if the items in the "box" is an electronic device called "THE BARNACLE BILL" it is a full-time AQUA/SONIC oscillator power driver. It hooks up to transducers that are mounted to the inside of the hull. I have searched all over the "net" and cannot find anything about them! Does anyone out there have an idea as to how this unit is susposed to operate? It is 110V input and 12-24V output.

Thanks PhilDX, That sounds similar, this unit is housed in a steel box, 6"x3.5"x2". The output side has four lugs, two are grounds and two are 8ohm. The input sidehas the same setup along with an off/on switch. the side opposite the output has an AC power switch and two terminals + and -, and 12 or 24 V-DC label under them.:

Pure guess, but I'd say since it has AC input, it was intended mainly to be used while hooked to shore power. You could leave the boat in the dock with the transducers hooked up to keep the barnacles off. The idea of creating a film of chlorine gas on the hull sounds like one of those ideas that's sound in theory, but turns out to dissolve fiberglass or some-such.
