If the oil is clear it is OK but if it is cloudy or milky looking then there is water in it and the unit needs resealing.
The black oil on the propeller is just partly burnt oil from the fuel.
If there is water in the oil then you will be able to ID all the seals and gaskets required from the parts diagrams for your engine at

It would be sensible to renew the pump impeller at the same time (There is a kit for doing that)
A workshop manual would advisable.
BTW I think I am right in saying this unit uses "Type C " oil not the usual gear oil.
