1969 5hp eska

hi guys first post here and i got my first 5 hp eska it was in a guys basement for 3 years and not ran anyways i have it and it has lots of spark but it wont pick up any fuel need help please

There are so many Eska models, the question is hard to answer. Does it have the diaphragm carburetor? I never liked them when they were new. Does it run at all? Whatever it is, it probably has a crudded up carburetor from old gas.

model# is 1705 and it will start if i pour gas in the cylinder but thats it i just dont want to rip it all down if i dont need to

Yep - You gotta rebuild the carb - You have a red runner fuel pump element in the mounting face of the carb that is prone to splitting or tearing. You may also have a viton tipped needle in there. You can get part numbers here;

If the motor has a water pump in the leg, be sure it has a good impeller in it, or it may ruin your day.
