1969 7.5 hp Merc Parts Diagram

I'm having some cooling trouble with a 1969 Merc 75. I've pulled this machine completely apart and I'm still not getting circulation. I've replaced the impeller and blown out every tube and port, but I can't find any obstruction. Could be that the pick up tube at the impeller housing is damaged or is not the proper piece. Could be that the water is not making up the tube. Would anyone have a parts diagram of the lower unit/exhaust tower for a 1969 7.5 hp?

Did you try running water up the copper supply tube?

This'll tell you right away if the problem is in the upper end.

No diagrams there for the earliest 7.5's, but click on a later ser # and the diagram will be similar.

No I didn't blast water up the pick up tube. My workshop is in the basement and its too dark to see anything outside. Instead, I blew compressed air up the tube and I couldn't hear or feel it coming out. This motor also appears to discharge the cooling water inside the exhaust tower. If any comes out with the exhaust in the exhaust hole then I don't know how it gets there. However, once I get the motor back on I'll shoot some water up the pick up tube or in the flushing hole.

run these tests...... if you are still having problems id suggest the water tube seal is gone on the pump housing
